Sylvia Ann Fahsel (née Hall), 76, a spirited and deeply devoted mother and grandmother, passed away on May 12, 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland. Born March 12, 1949, the daughter of the late Roy and Regina White Hall in Alexandria Bay, New York. Known for her twinkling blue eyes, easy smile, and unwavering independence, Sylvia lived a life rich in purpose, connection, and grace. Sylvia's professional life was marked by her entrepreneurial spirit, notably as the owner of the Thousand Island Egg Factory. She also served the Town of Alexandria and worked as an account clerk for the Alexandria Central School District, roles that highlighted her dedication to her community. Sylvia attended Alexandria Central School and took classes at Jefferson Community College. She was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church. Her faith was an integral part of her life, guiding her actions and interactions. Beyond her professional and spiritual life, Sylvia had a rich array of hobbies. She loved baking, sewing, reading, family history, and gardening. An avid card player, she cherished time spent with friends and family. There was never a trip that she would say no to; she absolutely adored travel and wanted to experience and see everything. Sylvia was also a proud and active member of the Kirkland Grange, the Jefferson County Pomona Grange #5, and the LeRay de Chaumont Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, reflecting her deep roots in and commitment to her community.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Fahsel-Heseltine (Tom); her son, Brad Fahsel; grandchildren Nicolas Heseltine, Kasia Fahsel, Makenna Fahsel, Samuel Heseltine, and Josef Heseltine; her brother, Dennis Hall; her sister-in-law, Frances Forney Fahsel; her brothers-in-law, Joel Mitchell and Paul Warneck; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sylvia was predeceased by her loving husband, James Fahsel; her sisters, Teresa Hall Mitchell and Marsha Hall Warneck; her brother-in-law, Michael Fahsel; and her in-laws, Clarence and Josephine Czoper Fahsel.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Loves Company, which helps children and families impacted by ALS. Sylvia lost her husband to ALS in 1975 and raised her children by herself, so this is a cause that was very meaningful to her. www.HopeLovesCompany.org and note it is in memory of Sylvia Fahsel please. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 22, at St. Cyril's Cemetery, Highland Avenue, Alexandria Bay, NY. There will be a luncheon following at 2:00 pm at the American Legion at 9 Rock Street. Sylvia's life and legacy will be celebrated by all who knew her, leaving a lasting imprint on her community and loved ones.
