Stanley G. Rice

Stanley “Stan” G. Rice Jr., 70, of Alexandria Bay, NY, passed away April 28, 2026, at SUNY Upstate. In keeping with his wishes, he was an organ donor.

Born April 23, 1956, in Cortland, NY, he was the son of Stanley G. Sr. and Joyce A. (Kibbe) Rice. He attended Alexandria Bay Central School and served in the U.S. Army. 

He was a well-known automotive and marine mechanic in the area. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the 1000 Islands and the St. Lawrence River. 

Survivors include his son, Grant M. (Ashley) Rice of Lenoir City, TN, and their children, Tayla and Piper; daughters, Rebecca Rice of Alexandria Bay and her children, Sandra, Erica, and Shane, and Victoria Hines of Florida; and a sister, Suzanne (Gary) McEuen of Homer, NY. He was predeceased by his parents and a daughter, Jessica Caforio. 

A celebration of life reception will be held Wednesday, May 6th from 5-7 pm at the Scenic View Park Pavilion in Alexandria Bay (next to River Hospital on Fuller Street).  Friends are encouraged to bring a dish to pass.
