Richard W. "Rick" Branche

Richard W. “Rick” Branche, 73, passed away at his home on Thursday evening, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 13, 1952 in Watertown, NY, son of Harvey and Thelma Grant Branche. He graduated from General Brown High School and attended Jefferson Community College.

He married Mary Beth Kavanaugh on October 6, 1979 at St. Cyril’s Church in Alexandria Bay, with Fr. James Meehan, officiating.

Rick worked as a general mechanic for the NY State Parks in the Thousand Islands region. He was an avid fisherman and deer hunter as well as a huge NY Yankees and Giants fan.

Besides his wife, Mary Beth, he is survived by two daughters, Sara (Matthew) Elliott, Fayetteville, NY and Kelly (Brandon) Roberts, Chittenango, NY, three grandchildren, Benson, Grace and Michael Elliott, three brothers, Warren (Deborah) Branche, Tucson, AZ, James (Connie) Branche, Copenhagen, NY and Steven (Diana) Branche, New Paltz, NY, and a sister, Donna (Leslie) Keys, Fredericksburg, Va. He was predeceased by a sister, Korleen Farley.

A calling hour will be held Monday, December 22nd from 1-2 pm, at the Costello Funeral Home in Alexandria Bay. A memorial service will begin at 2pm, with Fr. Douglas Comstock, officiating.
