Melford E. Robinson

Melford E. Robinson, 85, of Berry Blvd, LaFa rgeville, passed away Thursday morning June 25, 2015, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY. Melford was born on April 30, 1930, in Rochester, NY, the son of Floyde and Laura Berry Robinson. He was educated in local schools. Melford married Dixie Baker on October 4, 1958 in Theresa, NY. She passed away on December 31, 2011. He was a self-employed roofer and also worked on the construction of Interstate 81.   Melford is survived by his sons: Joseph (Jessica) Robinson, Stone Mills, NY; David Robinson, LaFargeville, NY; and Isaac (Kate) Robinson, Albion, NY; his daughters: Laura (Dennis) Parow, Quinton, VA; Candy (Steven) Ackert, Toana, VA; Elaine (Steven) McConnell, Theresa, NY; Tina (Gary) Schall, Petersburg, VA, and Michelle Burrows, South Chesterfield, VA. He is also survived by his brothers, Carl, Richard, and John of LaFargeville and Robert of Rochester, and sisters, Gloria Countryman of LaFargeville and Shirley Strough of Alexandria Bay. Also numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, Dixie, two brothers, Jerry and Junior, and one sister, Violet, predeceased him.   Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 6 ^th at Costello Funeral Home, Alexandria Bay, from 1-3pm. The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Orleans Four Corners Cemetery.
