Eugenia Kavanaugh

Eugenia Kavanaugh, 101, passed away Friday, July 3rd, at her home.

She was born, October 31, 1924, in Alexandria Bay, daughter of S. Eugene and Mary Clary Wagoner. She graduated from Alexandria Bay High School.

She married Richard Kavanaugh on October 15, 1949, at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church, in Alexandria Bay.

Eugenia worked as an administrative assistant for over 20 years, for Alexandria Central School.

Besides her husband, Richard, she is survived by two sons, Thomas (Karen), Vestal, NY and David (Carol), Oswego, NY, a daughter, Mary Beth Branche, Alexandria Bay, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by four sisters, Miriam Strough, Eunice Cali, Madelyn Hartman and Jackie Egenhofer.

A calling hour will be held Friday, July 17th, from 12 noon until 1pm at St. Cyril’s Church, Alexandria Bay, with a funeral mass beginning at 1pm.

Memorial donations may be made in Eugenia’s name to the Alexandria Bay Rescue Squad, 110 Walton St, Alexandria Bay, NY 13607.
