DORIS G. FUNDA

MAY 13, 2016 Redwood, NY – Doris G. Funda, 86, of County Route 192, passed away Friday morning at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. She was born December 31, 1929 in Lysander, NY, daughter of Frederick Groth, Sr, and Eleanor Cannon Groth. She graduated from LaFayette High School, Morrisville College, with her LPN, and Orange County Community College, with her RN degrees. She married Robert L. Funda, Sr, on July 1, 1961, in Jamesville, NY. Doris and her husband owned and operated Funda’s Bluff Campground, on Hyde Lake, for many years. Besides her husband Robert, she is survived by  a daughter, Eleanor M. Miller, Pittsburgh, PA, a son Robert L. Funda, Jr., Hammond, NY, a brother and his wife, Norman and Linda Groth, LaFayette, NY  a sister and her husband Norma Jean and Richard Dunham, Spring Valley, PA, six grandchildren and a great grandson. She was predeceased by two brothers, Frederick Groth, Jr. and Richard Groth. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 21 ^st at 11 am, at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Redwood, with Fr. Douglas Comstock, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are with Costello Funeral Service, Alexandria Bay.
