David L. Hollis, 71, Alexandria Bay, NY, passed away at Samaritan Medical Center, where he had been a patient for a short time.
Dave was born on June 18, 1954 in Alexandria Bay, the son of John L. and Frances Boyle Hollis. He graduated from Alexandria Central School and then received his business degree from Canton ATC.
He most recently worked at the Thousand Islands Country Club, Wellesley Island. He also previously worked at various resorts in Alexandria Bay, including Pine Tree Point Resort. He spent many years coaching girls basketball and softball for Alexandria Central School.
Dave loved golf, as well as all sports, and going to Turning Stone Casino.
He is survived by his brother Joel (T.C.) Hollis, Alexandria Bay; and sisters, Denise (John) Colt, Marysville, MI, and Pamela (Brian) Knight Watertown, NY; three nephews and two nieces.
He was predeceased by five siblings Debbie, Kevin, Brian, Richard, and Lori as well as his parents, John L. and Frances Hollis.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family at Costello Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life event will be held February 12 from 3-6 p.m. at the Alexandria Bay American Legion.
Memorial donations may be made in David’s name to the Alexandria Bay Fire Department, 110 Walton St., Alexandria Bay, NY 13607.
